We primarily cater for children within Key Stage 2 – school years 3 – 6, but also have a group of older KS3 Young people, up to aged 14 years.
We use the Chapel premises all year round; when indoors playing table tennis, table air hockey, Wii games, X-Box, pool and a range of craft activities. We usually include a 5 minute ‘thinking’ time around a range of topics, such as – superheroes; what it is to be individual; Why am I special? We also include a game, such as ‘Hungry Hippos’, doughnuts or toilet roll hockey!
When the weather is on our side we also take the opportunity to use our extensive outdoor space for team games, football, skipping, netball/basketball, swing ball and other outdoor games.
The Young People also have ‘tuck’ and drink and opportunity to chat with their friends.
There is a nominal charge of £1.50 per child each session, including ‘tuck’.
We meet on alternate Thursday evenings from 6.30 pm to 7.45 pm, during school term times. Dates shown above.
All team members are DBS checked and have undertaken Safeguarding training. We adhere to the Baptist Union Safeguarding guidelines, which can also be seen on the website.
The Safeguarding lead for Church is usually in attendance, as a member of the Loft team and can be contacted by email if you have any safeguarding questions, kathrynsafeguardingcrbc@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing you!
We were surprised and very pleased in 2022, when the Primary School at Carleton Rode brought in some posters the children had made for us. They were of The Loft and the Chapel Café. They were excellent and were displayed in our windows.
During one of our sessions the children adopted a new strategy to make sure they were at the front of the queue when the tuck shop opened, which is always an eagerly anticipated event. As you see from this picture, rather than stand they organised a line of seating and occupied themselves with 'word search' puzzles, until the appointed time!!!!
We would love to meet you at our friendly group, and you're very welcome to just pop along one evening when we're open and have a look around. Our leadership team and supervising volunteers will be delighted to speak with you.
